obi calendar

Hooray...now that August is here I'm starting work on my latest pet project, a 2008 calendar in all neutrals. Even though I love experimenting with different colors, I'll admit that my favorite style is minimalist - in both graphics and inks. I modeled the page design on Japanese obi's, which are the wide cloth belts worn with kimonos.

I'll be working on these for the next month or so, and if all goes according to schedule they will be available for purchase on the site in early Fall.

Thanks so much, I'm excited to be working on them. I'm finishing designs on the remaining months this weekend, so appreciate the encouragement!

Oh, this is absolutely gorgeous! I am also working on my 2008 calendar, but I'm definitely not as far along as you! I emailed you a while ago about my new design + letterpress business in Portland, Oregon - Satsuma Press. It's all up and running and so much fun. Anyway, again, stunning work. Congratulations!

I have to agree with you. There is beauty in simplicity. Your designs are exemplary examples of this and is the reason why I keep checking back to see your latest creations.
